Blue dress progress...or rather set back

After washing the skirt of my light blue dress I noticed a discolored stripe in the center. The fabric fold was not only dirty but apperently discolored as well. So I had to take apart the skirt and replace the front part.
And even thougth I made two mock-ups the bodice. The final bodice didn't fit properly. The shape of the cups don't work on my breast. I don't know if it's a flaw in the pattern or just me being odd shaped. The other version of this dress I made early with the other bodice of this pattern I had the same problems. So I am not using this pattern anymore.

I have tried several solutions and nothing worked. I don't know how to fix it. So I guess I'll have to sleep on it a night (or two). Not too much nights though the deadline is closing in...

Busy!

I haven't blogged in a while but that doesn't mean I haven't been doing anything! It actually means that I am doing lots of (maybe even to many) different things. One of them is a Top Secret project that I am doing with my husband. And we both feel honoured to be able to do it... Being that the project is top secret I can't reveal anything but what I can say that all will be come clear in a few weeks. And that it is going to be truly amazing! "bounce bounce bounce"

This is another project that I am currently working on. I just loved the blue satin 50's inspired dress by H&M but it didn't fit. Also I really disliked the wide dress lenght metal zipper. So I decided to make my own version inspired by H&M and vintage 50's dresses.

The dress by H&M

Grace Kelly in High Society.

Grace Kelly in To Catch a thief.

Not vintage but pretty and inspiring... Dita von Teese in a lightblue 50's style dress...

I also bought a pair of cat eye sunglasses on Ebay.

The looked great on Marilyn Monroe. I am not sure about how they look on me...
