Early Medieval tunic and undertunic for a girl

Next weekend we will be having our first event of the year, finally! The early medieval undertunic and tunic for the daughter of friends are almost finished,  only the sleeves need to be hemmed. And I promised to make her a cloak. I hope the outfit fits, as they live quite far away her dad took her measurements. Usually I insist on taking the measurements myself. As they whole outfit has turned out very long and thin, I must admit not having much faith in it.

But the vikingkit for my son has a higher priority at the moment. Both tunic and trousers are wide and long, and will have deep seams. Which can be let out when he grows.
I must say that after all the trouble I had with making modern clothing. It is a relieve to be able to make something fast and easy.

Did I mention that I need a new pair of nalebound socks? It's going to be a busy week!

Time to get to work on viking stuff.

With a first event coming up in less than two weeks. I really need to get working on a viking(under)tunic and thorsbergen pants for my son! At least I have enough fabric.
I have been so preoccuppied with trying to make/picking out outfits for my sisters wedding that I haven't done a thing yet. I am happy and relieved to be able to say that we found outfits for all three of us...
I hope weather will get better soon. It's still rather cold and it rains often here in the Netherlands. It really feels more like autumn than spring. We could all do with a little sunshine and warmth.

Fed Up!

The blue dress project is really jinxed!  We tried to draft our own bodice, but failed to get the right look. I bought a pattern for a halterdress, with a bodice we could use. In the size coordinating with the measurements and it turns out several inches too big! The size is the smallest size on the pattern, ofcourse... And to make the situation worse. The markings (notches) on the pattern pieces of the cups seams don't match up. I really don't know why I keep buying commercial clothing patterns.
